Bran Muffins

A family favorite recipe that comes from my great-auntie’s, curretly loving having these for breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups bran
  • 3 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Mix bran and buttermilk together and let soak while you prepare other ingredients
  3. Mix sugars, vanilla, eggs and oil together. Add to buttermilk and bran. Then add dry ingredients.
  4. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes
  5. After you take them out of the oven, turn them on their sides in the pan and place a tea towel over them, so they steam for a little while, this will make them more soft and moist.Â
